What Now!?

WHAT NOW!? is a solo exhibition by nationally exhibited sculptor and multimedia artist Chris Wubbena. Traveling from Missouri to Hermosa Beach, Wubbena brought an immersive collection of sculpture, painting, writing, sound, short films and found-object assemblages to Not Shockboxx.

Moving between memory and chaos, humor and anxiety, beauty and survival, Wubbena’s work explores what it means to exist in the middle of things: after something has ended, before the next thing has taken shape, and in the strange, uncertain space where the only question left is, What now?

Wubbena holds an MFA from San Francisco State University and is a tenured full professor at Southeast Missouri State University. WHAT NOW!? opened July 11, 2026, offering South Bay audiences a rare opportunity to experience his expansive, multidisciplinary work on the West Coast.
