Winter Garden was not a walk through a floral wonderland. Curated by Genie Davis, the immersive group exhibition entered a world where beauty and decay coexist, examining the deceptive dormancy, hidden potential and quiet transformation of the coldest season.
Some works bloomed with the promise of spring. Others reflected winter’s raw stillness, when light feels rare and we must create our own through resilience, imagination and hope. Across mixed media, oil and acrylic painting, lenticular art, collage, neon and sculpture, the exhibition celebrated what persists, what mutates, what refuses to remain hidden and what continues growing even when it cannot yet be seen.
Inspired by Rumi’s reminder that a winter garden may appear quiet while its roots remain riotous below, the exhibition brought together each artist’s deeply personal interpretation of the season. The resulting collection found color beyond flowers, life within dormancy and the promise of renewal inside apparent endings.
Winter Garden opened at Not Shockboxx on December 6, 2025, and concluded with an artist talk and closing reception on January 3, 2026.
